Overview

The ADAS SSBA to 30M Part 2 Certificate is the next step in becoming a commercial diver, and builds upon the fundamentals learned in Part 1. This course is conducted over a 4 week period and introduces the use of Surface Supplied Breathing Apparatus (SSBA) as the basis for underwater construction activities and a wide variety of construction tools are introduced including the use of welding and cutting equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, salvage equipment, air and water dredging equipment, construction tools, non destructive testing and other work related subjects to meet on shore diving industry requirements. The ADAS Part Two SSBA to 30m certificate is equivalent to the HSE Part 3 (UK) certificate and has a 20 course day duration. The emphasis of the training is on preparing occupational divers to work safely and effectively as members of a commercial diving team in order to successfully achieve a variety of onshore construction work. The course includes 24 dives on SSBA.

In addition to the practical dates below, one week of theory is covered through online learning in the two weeks' prior to practical training. Note the course fees for Part 1 in Queensland has a higher cost as accommodation at Orpheus Island Research Station is included.

COMPLETING THIS COURSE WILL HELP YOU:

  • Find onshore work as a commercial diver (CDA's job placement rate is 100%)
  • Civil onshore up to 30m
  • Aquaculture diving up to 30m
  • Pre-requisite of our most popular course - ADAS Part 3 (SSBA to 50m)

Who is the Course for?

The ADAS Part Two course is for the diver who wants to work in aquaculture or onshore civil work that does not require and ADAS Part Three ticket.

The ticket allows divers to work in non-decompression conditions where depths will not exceed 30 metres. This means for non-complex and shallow onshore dive sites the ticket is a minimum requirement.

Divers with the ADAS Part Two ticket are able to use a huge range of power tools, including hydraulic and pneumatics as well as welding and Broco thermic cutting underwater.

ADAS Part Two is also a pre-requisite for our ADAS Part Three course, which allows divers to earn considerably more money, work offshore and work onshore in more complex roles such as deep dams or salvage.
