The ADAS Life Support Technician (LST) and Assistant Life Support Technician (ALST) are integral roles in the Dive Bell team. The responsibilities and actions of an LST directly effect and control the lives of the divers under their care. The primary responsibility of an LST is maintaining an environment to sustain life within the saturation diving complex.
These courses cover working safely in a hyperbaric operation, operating life support equipment as part of a team in a saturation diving operation, performing compression, decompression and therapeutic recompression operations, and working safely in offshore diving operations.
The ADAS Life Support Technician (LST) course builds on the knowledge gained in the Assistant Life Support Technician (ALST) Course. Find out more information on the ADAS website.
The Life Support Technician (LST) course is a great addition to any commercial divers CV. The course prepares those with the relevant industry experience the ability to work as part of a bell dive team.
This course is going to be the best add-on to a Part 3 certificate as it builds upon the skills and knowledge needed to work successfully offshore in the oil and gas industry.
More information regarding career pathways from an Assistant Life Support Technician (ALST) to Life Support Technician (LST) to Life Support Supervisor (LSS) can be found on the ADAS website.
Successful completion of this course results in the following Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification:
LST: Certificate IV in Hyperbaric Operations (Saturation system). (National Qualification Code: 11006NAT, awarded by Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS), Registered Training Organization (RTO) Number 88104).
ALST: Partial completion of Certificate IV in Hyperbaric Operations (Saturation system). (National Qualification Code: 11006NAT, awarded by Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS), Registered Training Organization (RTO) Number 88104)..

it was the best 3 months of my life, it went so quick as the course was enjoyable and we were doing different things every day. Thanks, CDA for a great course and helping me find employment after the course. Anyone thinking of doing the course just do it you want regret it, the school has great facilities, you’ll meet new friends and get the best training available anywhere.

The facility, equipment and training that is offered and available to students is nothing short of amazing. The Saturation barge is an experience within its self. I'd doubt you'd get this type of experience anywhere else in the southern hemisphere.

one of the biggest things a noticed was that students even from Part 1 and 2 were being trained exactly as we would if we were working on an offshore and onshore worksite. Something I feel I missed out from previous training elsewhere.
